Transfer to Legoland from Billund Airport

I'm looking at transfers from Billund Airport online, and some people say that you can't get anywhere without a reservation, while others say that you can easily sort everything out on the spot. What's the truth? I don't really want to pay in advance, but I'm afraid not to book in case there are no seats available.
