Our History
Nishimachi was founded in 1949 by Tané Matsukata, granddaughter of Japan’s former Prime Minister Matsukata Masayoshi. Her vision was to create a school where children of all nationalities could study together, learning not only academics but also values of peace, respect, and international understanding. This pioneering spirit continues to guide Nishimachi today, as we honor our traditions while embracing innovation in education.
