UNEXPECTED LOVE. EPISODE 1.

My life has gone according to plans so far and I am forever grateful to God and my parents. I have put in a lot of hard-work, persistence and prayers to get to where I am today.

“Don’t worry mum. I’ll eat once I’m done typing these reports”

“My son, make sure you do, please. I don’t want you to break down”

“Sure, I will”

My mum and I talked for a while before I ended the call

Mummy calls me almost everyday to enquire of my well-being. Sometimes, I’d overhear my dad over the phone telling her to stop disturbing me. Well, I am fond of her and never complained. As the only child of my parents, it is obtainable. My parents, all retired government civil servants, trained me in one of the best secondary schools in Port-Hacourt. I studied accounting in University of Calabar and lived very comfortable when I was still in school. I never had any money issues. Mum sent me money every week aside from the ones dad normally sent every month. I graduated as one of the best students in UNICAL and got a job at Shell oil company located in Port-Hacourt immediately after my National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) program at Ikwo, Ebonyi state. I am just 24 years old and earned over five hundred fifty thousand naira (N550,000) monthly for the services I rendered to the company. When I got the job, I was given a two bedroom apartment and an official car by the company and therefore, lived away from my parents. I have been working in this company since I was 22.
