"Aswang A Filipino Folklore"
Aswang is a Filipino folklore. It is famous for the way it looks and even the it hunt for its victim. Aswang is a shape shifting creature sometimes it can copy the appearance of a cat, dog, bat or even a snake. Aswang used to hunt its victim through night time where there's no sun to burn them or expose them. Its especialty are pregnant woman a newborn baby. They are similar to "Manananggal" which I will discuss to my next article. Some says that aswang loves to sip pregnant woman's blood to be able to kill the fetus afterwards eat it. Creepy right?
Filipino ancestors said to be able to protect household with a pregnant woman or a newborn baby is to put protection. One of the protection are "Bagakay" kind of bamboo and a "Asin" or salt. Bakagay is sharpened at the edge and place at your doorstep. Asin is used also as a protection to send away Aswang it is placed on windows and bedside.
Weather Aswang is real or not it is part of Philippines folklore. We should respect it. Folklore or myth is a part of a certain country. It is sometimes creepy or satisfying to read, we can agree to it right? Well for my point of view, I myself don't don't usually believe to all of myth or folklore but it cannot kill you to follow or respect those beliefs or tradition.
