Taylor Swift's highly anticipated Eras Tour kicks off its US leg tonight (Oct. 18) in Miami, and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is capitalizing on the excitement to drive youth voter engagement in crucial states like Florida.

To tap into the enthusiasm, the DNC has launched a Taylor Swift-themed Snapchat filter in key battleground states, featuring the phrase "I'm in my voting era" followed by "Be fearless for…" Users can interact with the filter by selecting from a range of pressing issues, including reproductive rights, climate change, racial equality, and student debt relief. The filter also directs users to IWillVote.com, the Democratic Party's primary voter education platform, to learn more about voting in the upcoming election.

"With fans flocking to Miami for the Taylor Swift concert, we saw an opportunity to creatively engage young voters, women, and the LGBTQ community on the issues that matter most in this election," said Rosemary Boeglin, DNC communications director. "The Snapchat filter not only drives users to IWillVote.com but also encourages them to take a stand on the issues that will shape their future."

In addition to the Snapchat filter, the DNC is running targeted advertisements on a boat near the concert venue and on billboards throughout Miami, featuring the slogans "I'm in my Kamala Era" and "A fresh path ahead…Are you ready for it?" These ads also point viewers to IWillVote.com, making it easy for them to get involved in the electoral process.

This marks the DNC's first Snapchat filter of the election cycle, as part of its broader strategy to connect with young voters in a rapidly evolving media landscape. As https://carsnewstoday.com previously reported, the DNC is committed to reaching voters where they are, and Snapchat's vast user base makes it an ideal platform for this effort.

With over 100 million users in the United States, Snapchat boasts an impressive reach, particularly among young adults. Approximately 80% of its users are at least 18 years old and eligible to vote, making it an attractive platform for campaigns looking to engage with this demographic. As the New York Times noted, the Harris-Walz campaign has already invested $5.3 million in Snapchat ads, while the Trump campaign has yet to purchase any Snapchat advertisements.
